Recommend something good to watch

I'll start us off....









The Cure (Drama) released in 1995. It's about a boy who's not got the best of a child hood. Kids picking on him, drunken mother... an "invisable" father. Befriends a kid with Aids. I don't want to say to much and spoil it. Warning it's a tear jerker... oh and my other reason for loving it.. It stars

Hand That Rocks The Cradle(Suspense) Starining the always sexy Rebecca De Mornay. Rebecca plays the wife of a doctor (who committed suicide). Blaming the death of her husband on the woman who accused him of Raping her, Rebecca gives a stunning performance as a woman on edge and out for blood. This was my favorite when I was 8....and still is

Diary of a Mad Black Woman (Drama) I love this movie because Tyler Perry is a genius. The man can Write, Direct, Produce, Star (and in three roles), dance, and sing. The movie holds good family values not just for Black people but for all people...and it shows the wonderful side of black people not what most of the media wants you to see..

The Three Musketeers (Drama/Action/Comady) Story of..well the title says it all. Released in 1993, this movie will make you Cry, sit on the edge of your seat from the action, and Oliver Platt will make you laugh until you pee...then you'll laugh at that... A movie for the entire family but not to be mistaken for your normal kind of family film.

or if you want something completely scary

Jeepers Creepers(Horror) One of the only movies that still get me everytime. Tell's the story of a creature that can only be best discribed as a Demon straight from hell. It can make you scream. From that scream it can smell your fear. In your fear it can sense what it wants. Every 23 years for 23 days it gets to eat... will you be on the menu?

This is a TV Series... It isnt on the air any more.

Firefly Directed and created by Joss Whedon

This is a Science Fiction show that takes place in space aboard the ship Serenity. They are a band of people that will take a job, any job that will get them money. They take on some new passengers to get some money and get more than they asked for. They are constantly on the move to get away from the Alliance and the Reavers.

This show is a mix between Science Fiction and cowboys. I know it sounds corney but it is really good.

This is a science fiction movie about a team of archaeologists that find themselves in the 14th century by the means of a timetravel device. Their mission is to find their professor and bring him back before the French invade. There is war, hatred, action, fighting, and romance.

Actors: Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale

Thriller/Horror/Action

Van Helsing my travel to Transylvania to help Anna fight and kill Count Dracula to save her family. This movie has it all Fankenstein, Vampires, Werewolves and is packed with action.

Now and Again
When Michael Wiseman is killed in a tragic subway accident, the U.S. government covertly makes him an offer he can't refuse; they "keep his brain alive" and place it into a new, genetically bio-engineered body. The doctor in charge of the experiment has grand plans for him, but all Michael wants is to get back to his grieving wife and daughter. For security reasons, the government forbids such contact... not that Michael is going to let that stop him.

It was always a lot of fun and it had a lot of comedic moments.

Seven Days, also no longer airing:
Frank Parker works for Project Backstep: he can go back seven days in time to fix things, but that's the only chance he has. It's a quirky show.

Eureka (currently running):

Love this show. It's about a town started by Einstein that's kept a secret. Geniuses live there and work in private. They have the most advanced technology anywhere and it's really funny. I recommend this one highly. Great writing and acting.

While You Were Sleeping (movie, not well known):
It's a romantic comedy and while I hate romantic comedies, there are two that I'll watch: "I.Q." and this one. (I.Q. is good too). This is such a funny movie that I can watch it every day and not get tired of it. Great performances by Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman, and the supporting cast all did a great job as well.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (movie):
Hilarious. Steve Martin and John Candy do excellent work in this comedy where everything that can go wrong when trying to fly home for Thanksgiving goes wrong. Plane layovers, car fires, company screwups, and one guy that is high class forced to partner up with a slob who likes to eat cracker jacks in bed. Sounds strange but it's one of my favorite movies.

Midnight Run (movie):
This movie does have strong language, but other than that it's great. Robert DeNiro and Chuck Grodin give stellar performances in this movie. DeNiro, a bounty hunter and ex-cop, takes the job to hunt down "The Duke" (Grodin). It turns out that The Duke, an accountant, stole money from an extraordinarily rich criminal, who they both end up having to go up against, along with a jealous partner of DeNiro's that wishes he had gotten the job to hunt The Duke down. Well-written.

Uncle Buck (movie):
Not the greatest, but it's another John Candy movie and has a good theme underlying the movie, and I think that Jay Underwood was really funny in the movie (especially in the end). Candy plays Buck, the low-class brother of a married man. The married man's wife's father had a heart attack so they had to go to another state to see him, leaving their kids behind in Buck's care.

Dinosaurs (TV series, not running):
This is a great Jim Henson production. It pokes fun at modern life and at stereotyping and has lots of good jokes in between. There are also some spoofs inside the show, such as the TV show "Totally Hidden Predator" that pops out at random times and eats a dinosaur. (A play on Totally Hidden Camera).

If you guys get a chance watch Tenko. (T.V. series reruns only)
Its a very british drama but its about a womens POW camp in Singapore during ww2. I really didn't expect to like it given it was made in the late 70's but from the first episode i was gripped. There are lots of different types of characters and they all handle their situation in very different ways. Its increadably funny one minute and heartbreaking the next. Very well wrtten and still has some pertinent topic like euthenasia, racism, sexism etc
