What about Star Wars... anyone else love Star Wars too?... I'm on a major Star Wars kick right now... reading the books, watching the movies, writting stories, reading the fan fiction... it's really really really bad...

I love the original three. I have the original theatrical cuts, not the neutered re-released versions of them. I haven't seen the new ones nor read any books, but I'm still very fascinated with Star Wars. A New Hope is my favorite.

They didn't do a bad job on the re-released versions of the original trilogy and the new trilogy is great... Revenge of the Sith is my favorite of all six. Mr. Hoooooooot is in it.... well in Attack of the Clones as well... Anikain Skywalker.... he can use his lightsaber on me anytime! Plus it shows more of Darth Sidious/Palpatine which is actually my favorite character... I tend to always go for the villains...
and the books are amazing... I'm reading the novel version of Attack of the Clones right now and plan on reading Labyrinth of Evil next which is the arc between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith

I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, but I've seen all the recent ones. I saw A New Hope, but I don't think I saw the rest of the older ones. Episode 3 is my favorite. I love watching the two puzzle pieces of the 6 movies fall into place there.

Come on Mel, you've got to have an open mind... but... I guess that means your AGE is showing....
but then again, my oldest bro enjoys the new three as well as the old ones.. though he says the old ones are better... the new three help the story along..
though I still say my main reason for Ep 2 and Ep 3 is Mr. HHHHHHHHot!
Anakin: I love you Me: oh baby use the force!

though I still say my main reason for Ep 2 and Ep 3 is Mr. HHHHHHHHot! Anakin: I love you Me: oh baby use the force! eww, I didn't wanna hear that...... before ep 3 came out there was one time where my brother kept watching ep 2 over and over. My sister joined him (she was about 5 or 6 at the time) and she made up a song: Obi-Wan Kenobi I want to marry him! That's only part of the song, but I was laughing my head off!

After seeing the new Indiana Jones movie I felt like watching the old Star Wars movies. The only one I could find was part of Return of the Jedi on one of my brother's tapes. (The reason it was only part of it was because he accidentally recorded over most of it with Star Trek V because it wasn't marked on the tape.) It's been years since I've seen that movie and I don't think I'd seen the whole thing anyway. (Unless that's the one I saw instead of A New Hope.)
So I was in a Star Wars mood and started watching The Phantom Menace. I want to watch from episode 1-6. That way I'll see them in order of the story. Kinda like watching the story of Anakin Skywalker, huh. We don't have A New Hope though.... I'll have to find that at Blockbuster.com or something.

Mr. Malfoy ;D, I do think that it has to do with the quality of the movie and the originality of the story line that deters me from watching the newest three. Those three feel like, oh we want more money lets do prequels. But what do I know about quality; apparently my judgments suck these days.

My dad and brother said they'd been hearing rumors about the prequels for years before I heard real news about The Phantom Menace. (Kinda like I've been hearing rumors about a new Indiana Jones movie since 2000.) And at least George Lucas already had the stories all written out and not be like Enterprise (and the upcoming Star Trek movie) and make something up for the past. I assume he just chose the Luke Skywalker part of the Star Wars stories and thought he'd later tell the Anakin Skywalker story.
IDK, I sometimes don't understand the fans that won't watch the new ones. I mean it's not like it's someone else making it and trying to be like the original while bringing his own ideas (Braga comes to mind...). It's the same guy making 'em, already prewritten stories. If episodes 1-3 had come out 10 years earlier would you have seen them then? Would they really be considered so different as they are today? IDK, I'm just curious cuz it seems to me that you guys think the new ones betray the old ones. IDK.

I am a die-hard fan of the first three! Han Solo ROCKS MY WORLD!!!
I do know that George Lucas wanted to wait on the first three and do only the last three...because he knew that technology would become much better later in the future, and so he wanted to wait and do great justice to the first three, which involved much more detail than the later ones...More wars... fighting etc. He didn't just decide to do the prequels for prequels sake. The story was written in an entirety... not, 'Oh, hey lets add to Star Wars...I'm bored and want some cash.' This was his plan from the begining. So lets all give the great Mr.Lucas a break.
I loved the first two.... Come on Yoda with a light saber?!!!! What is NOT bada*s about that?!? The last one did suck. But that is entirely to me. I cannot stand Hayden Christensen as Anakin in the last one. He is just too whinny and petulant for my taste.
Other than that I love'em!!!

LOL! I have to agree with you about Heyden Christensen in ep 3! I liked the story and everything but maybe could have picked a better Anakin. Yoda's lightsaber fight was so awesome. I was cracking up in amazement when I finally saw it!
Mmm, Han Solo....... His hair could use a trim in the back, but hey, it was the '70s and '80s, haha!
