I like Star Wars, but I don't love it half as much as I do Trek.

I really hate it when someone refers to Star Trek and says "Star Wars." Then when you correct them they say "same thing." GRR!

Truly. I mean come on, no force in Trek, no Janeway in SW, no Wookees in Trek, no transporters in SW.....do I really need to continue? They are pretty much as different as night and day, but because their names start with Star they relate them. Or at least that's my opinion about it. I happen to like both, but a friend of mine loves Star Wars, but has yet to watch Trek and stares at us when my entire family starts making random Trek jokes. One thing I hate is when I wear something Trek there are a lot of people who look at it and go, 'oh, you like Star Trek.' What's wrong with that?!

I get the same thing all the time! (The Star Wars thing.) I mean, Stargate is closer to Star Trek than Star Wars is, but I never hear anyone saying they're the same thing! Of course, I also get the whole "you like Star Trek?" thing... It's like "I don't look at you like that for liking American Idol!".....

Ha ha, I finally got my friends at work to believe that I'm a Trekkie! Scott was the only one who believed me for the longest time. Ashleigh (the only one left to convince) finally bought it when I brought a Star Trek mousepad to work! I found a picture of it online: www.salimbeti.com/scifi/images/collection/gadget31.jpgShe said she never believed I was a Trekkie because I don't look like one! Well, what if I said someone doesn't look like a girl because she has short hair?! Grr..... (ha ha, sorry Kes ;D)

Another thing that irritates the crap out of me is that Star Wars is totally mainstream. People don't stare at you like you're crazy if you like Star Wars. Whatever, it's expected. But, those same people have a horrible look of disgust when you tell them that you like Star Trek. WTF is up with that?
