Perhaps we should go to the pub ahead of time and get some matchbooks/business cards from them........you know, so we can have them "available" to hand out to certain artist-folk. Well, Alec, you and Kate can either ride with us or just meet us there..........here's the address and some matches. (hey look, KJ..........this one even has our name on it: DIVAs, lol!) ;D ;D

Oh my gosh, that would be so cool if they both went to London. I LOVE London. I went there and to France when I was 13, and I am dying to go back. I wanna go!!! I have never been to a convention, unfortunately. It seems that every time I find out about one, I have something I have to do, or money crap, etc etc.
So Van you should go to London and take lots of pictures for me!

Tina (KJ), me, Mel (belanna4), Les (jaxlynn), and Vanessa (vanyessa) This is my favorite picture!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was right before she told us that we made her day!!!!!! **I was on the phone with my mom and her friend walked past her desk so my mom showed her the picture. Her friend, who is my new best friend, said "They have the same cheeks, the same chin, the same forehead. If I didn't know better, I would think they were related!!!!!!!" wow, i only now am seeing all this! that's so awesome that you all got together to see the goddess of Star Trek herself (and Tim Russ!)! i think i've seen footage of this on Youtube?
Tina and Mel look like people I know, but I can't figure out who.... and in the picture with JF, KATE, and Tina, JF looks exactly like a girl I went to school with in early high school. (sorry, i tend to point those things out... *wink*)

That's so awesome!! I never met Kate, but she was at Trek Expo last October (my first con ever) and she was hilarious with Ethan Phillips and Robert Picardo! I had a great time. I talked with Mr. Phillips a few times, but never worked up the courage to talk to Robert Picardo (one of my favorite actors!) until he'd left. Every time I look at the picture of me (dressed like an Ensign Naomi Wildman) with them it just doesn't seem like it happened! Like it's too good to be true!!

Those plays sound like a lot of fun! Thanks for posting your report. You're really lucky to be able to meet the Auburn Goddess herself.

(repost from Facebook; pictures to come, or you can add me on Facebook "Christei Lynn Bartolazzi" -letting me know you're from TVC- and you can see them there)
I had lots of time during Trek Expo to write everything down as it happened. (I was working registration and of course there were slow times.) So I don't have to sit think to remember everything, I'll just post my diary entries. Be warned, I'm very detailed so this will be long.
Sat.7.June.08 09:36 (9:36 am) TREK EXPO 2008! Yesterday was day one and I had lots of free time to write but I had to finish the previous entry. I'm volunteering in registration and it wasn't very busy on my end with the daily passes since Friday is a short day. I had fun listening to the other registration volunteers talk and enjoyed being able to finish that entry! (I figured when it's not busy I could write about Trek Expo as it happens. I hope there's enough room left in here! If not, I'll write on whatever I can get and rewrite them in my next diary.) So I bought some things last night: a keychain that has buttons making Doctor Who sounds, a TARDIS T-shirt (says: "TARDIS Express: When it absolutely has to be there before you sent it."), a Voyager commbadge!, pictures of Indians Jones and David Tennant (and a Robert Sean Leonard one for Felicia), a Klingon dictionary, and the VOY book "The Escape"! I started reading that book in Pueblo West and lost it. I didn't find it again until we were moving and I had to return it to the library. I think I got to chapter 7. Anyhoo, I got to go to the screening of parts 1 and 2 off "Of Gods and Men." I saw part of it out of enjoyment and then Curtis (one of the volunteers I became acquainted with last year, and the guy who took the picture of me in my uniform) came over and sat by me. He kept making sarcastic comments and it was funny at first. When he started throwing in more cuss words (and I heard all of them) and talking about how hot "She-Hulk"s (the Orion slave girl) costume was, I was getting a bit mad. I can't blame him because I never said anything. I wish I would have. Well, that's pretty much it for yesterday. Oh! Except during "Of Gods and Men" before Curtis came over Walter Koenig (aka "Pavel Chekov") walked about a foot in front of me! Oh, I also walked past Richard Herd (aka "Admiral Owen Paris") and saw Vaughn Armstrong (aka "Admiral Forest"). So anyway, that was yesterday.
Sat.7.June.08 14:34 (2:34 pm) So far today's been cool. I took some pictures of fans including two guys dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi! There was one guy almost convincable as Kirk in the later movies and his name is really Jim! So I sat in on Walter Koenig talking and it was pretty cool. Someone actually asked him to say "nuclear wessels"! He mentioned last night that it was cold on stage and I guess he mentioneed it again before I got there today because one of the audience members offered for him to wear her jacket. I got pictures of him taking it and putting it on. He told some stories about how he got the Star Trek role and others. After that I had the photo op with Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols (Uhura). I'm going to have them sign the picture tomorrow. I have something to say to Koenig then, but I haven't thought of anythig for Nichols.
Sun.8.June.08 10:04 (10:04am) So in line for the photo op Richard Herd spoke to me. It wasn't anything big, but someone (mabe him) started doing the Vulcan salute. Since I had Vulcan eyebrows he asked me if I could do it. When I did he said I passed my physical. It was pretty funny. For some reason he seems like my grandpa instead of an old guy or a famous guy. So the last one I saw on stage that day was Adam Baldwin. I'm really not familiar with him, but I heard he's a fan favorite and friendly so I went to see him and took some pictures. There was one point an audience member asked him to sing some song and he warned us saying he doesn't have a very good singing voice. Then he pointed to the interpreter for the deaf and said, "She's talking to the lucky ones!" Everyone cracked up at that! Anyway, on Friday one of the dealers walking by mentioned that I wasn't wearing my uniform and then pointed at his forehead. I didn't recognize him, but obviously he saw me last year. Yesterday he came by again and mentioned I still wasn't weaing my uniform. I said that I was going to wear it, but since I messed up on alterations it's not very comfortable. Then he introduced himself as Jason and I told him my name. The he said he remembered me from last year because of my beautiful blue eyes. I was all like "aww, shucks... thanks" (didn't say "aww, shucks" though). The next time he stopped by I was looking through Sci-Fi magazine and pacing. He asked if I was having fun and I replied "yep... reading about Indiana Jones!" We talked about the new movie for a moment and he left. That about covers if for Saturday. Today on the way here I kept forgetting it was Sunday. I passed by my church and said, "I wonder why there are so many cars here." Then it dawned on me. "Oh! Church!" (Yeah, I skipped church for Star Trek, I know...) When I got to this area I had lots of time before I neeed to be here so I wanted to stop at Mardel. I saw on the door that their hours are Monday-Saturday 9am-something and wondered why there were no cars in the parking lot. I parked anyway and it didn't dawn on my until I pulled on the locked door that today is Sunday. So I went to see if Barnes and Noble was open and they were so I went in for a while. Nothing happened at the Expo until the aternoon. I went and saw Nichele Nichols on stage and she told stories like her meeting Dr. Martin Luthur King Jr. Afterwards I got her autograph on my photo op pic! It was either after that or shortly before seeing her on stage that I asked someone if they knew who was selling lightsabers. She pointed in Jason's direction and said it might have been him. So I went over and asked and I guess he was out of them there. Then he said the reason he kept talking to me was because it seemed we had the same interests and he wondered if I'd like to join him and his friends sometime in doing lightsaber acts (and possibly on stage at Trek Expo next year). He said I wouldn't be the only girl there either because his girlfriend (*whew*) does it too. I thought it sounded fun so he gave me his number and e-mail so I could join them sometime. Now that's awesome. Having someone warm up to you before asking them to do something. Best of anyone who's just met me and asked a favor of sorts. I bought 3 badges. One is a V.I.P. pass aboard the USS Voyager, one identifies me as a Vulcan Ambassador with the United Federation of Planets, and the last says that I'm an instructor at Starfleet Medical Academy.
Mon.9.June.08 20:12 (8:12 pm) I went back to the registration table after that. I think it was during that time that I got ths little surprise. I was simply writing my diary entry and one of the other registration ladies (I think her name was Laura?) came up to me and told me something. See, Keith Birdsong was there, as he was last year, and he's an amazing artist that paints for bookcovers and plates and stuff. Truly amazing work. I got to see his slideshow presentation last year. Anyhoo, I've seen him go by registration many times and talk to some of the people on the other side. Well, when Laura came up to me she said something like, "You just got a very nice compliment from Keith Birdsong. He just said you'd make a beautiful model for a poster or work of art." Now that was cool! Mostly because he's like a celebrity in my eyes, but still. Anyhoo, so I think I remained at registration until about 4:10 and then decided I'd go see Linda Park on stage for a while. On my way there I briefly looked at the dealer's table that had lots of wrestling figures and this time I saw a big Kurt Angle. I'd been wanting to get stuff for my family and I'm pretty sure that Kurt Angle is Peter's favorite wrestler. I looked at the price tag and asked the dealer if it was $4 or $400. When he said is it was $4 I replied "I'll be back for that." So I listened to Miss Park for a while and took pictures. When I left I saw that dealer's table was packed up except for that Kurt Angle. I didn't want to keep them waiting so I hurried to get my purse (which I usually took with me) and went to purchase it. I figured I'd use the rest of the time to buy stuff for at least my sister and maybe a Father's Day present. I kinda roamed around looking for stuff and when I passed Guy's booth (the guy that sold me the holo-emitter last year) he motioned for me to come behind the table. As I did he started digging through a box and asked if I had make-up on my nose one year like a Bajoran. I said I didn't, but he gave me a Bajoran insignia for if I ever do. I thought that was cool, then he handed me a little holographic Enterprise-D in a frame. Again, for keeps. He then asked if I had a pen and paper so I could give him my name and address so he could send me the better insert for my mobile emitter! I ran and did that and then he asked if I like to do crafts. I said sorta. He handed me an unfinished 7 of 9 eyepiece. All I had to do was use a blow-dryer on it and mold it to my face, then cool it with water and paint it! WHOO-HOO! I continued shopping and got a couple pictures for Amanda (Spider-Man in black and Hannah Montana), a funny Star Trek book (pictures with funny captions) for Father's Day, and last but not least a type 2 phaser squirt gun! It was $20, but too good to pass up! With only $3 left I knew I was done shopping so I asked some of the dealers if they needed help tearing down. When they all said they pretty much got it I said good-bye to Jason, Curtis, Guy, and the registration people and proceeded to go get my car fixed. (The battery. The a/c's messed up again in another way, but my dad's going to try to fix it this time.) All around this was a very awesome weekend. I didn't get to even see Amy Allen (played Aayla Secura, the blue woman, in one or two Star Wars movies), but I met cool people, got great favor, and had an amazing time! I may not have been as excited about this year's guests as I was last year's, but I do think that I had a better time! Anyhoo, I hope I rememeber to e-mail Jason in the morning. I'll also have to explain why I didn't contact him right away. (No home internet and not a phone person.)
P.S. I can't believe I forgot to say that sometime between getting Nichelle Nichols' autograph and seeing Linda Park I got Walter Koenig's autograph. Ms. Nichols wrote: "Christei Blessings Nichelle Nichols" and Mr. Koenig just wrote "To Christei Love Walter Koenig." Simple, but cool.
Tue.10.June.08 16:44 (4:44 pm) I know there's something I forgot to write from Saturday, but it's slipped my mind. I'll remember in a minute. Now, from Sunday I forgot something hilarious. After Guy gave me the first two things he showed me some pictures he took. He makes props and stuff to sell, right? So one thing he made was that ear bug Khan used on Chekov and that other dude in the second movie. Walter Koenig put it in his ear and acted like he did in the movie for the pictures! They were hilarious! I did give Guy my e-mail address so hopefully he'll send those pictures.
