OOOH, that sounds tough; a master's project. Good luck with that. I think a few Klingon posts would be great.............and a fanletter from B to K, would be great, too.

Okay I feel kinda weird posting this topic then I am going to disapear for a few days.
This morning my friend woke my up at 6 with a phone call. I knew that something had happened because she would never wake me up that early for something that wasnt. So when I fanlly get cohearent she tells me that she is at the hospital with her daughter (who just had a baby last weekend) and that she was in critical condition and in surgery. There was an infection around her stomach and organs. They didnt know what caused the infection at first then after some tests they found that it was a strand of strep.
They went in a did surgery again and decided that they needed to remove her uterus. After having a baby last weekend and giving it up for adotion now she doesnt have another chance to have another baby. My friend (the mother) was really devistated by this because she knew that her daughter wanted to have another baby later. She is still in critical condition andi nthe ICu but we were told that she is slowly improving.
I do have my computer here and Ill check in on posts and the site. I am hoping that it will keep me sane while I am here. The last time I was here in the waiting room it was because my grandma was here and we were preparing to say good bye. So that is making it hard also.
I hope all is well with the rest of you and I will try to post and sleep and eat and drink. LOL

I'm so sorry............I hope they're going to be okay! That's so sad. You're a good friend; I'm sure you will help her get her through this. She will be in our prayers.

Thanks! She had to go in for surgery today. Eariler that they thought that she would. They had to remove her gallbladder. Currently she is doing better. I am at the hospital again tonight, over nighter again. My friend just took a sleeping pill so at least she will get some sleep. This is a very good thing. I have gotten a few hours of sleep over the past few days, well see how much i get tonight.
My friends daughter is still in critical condition. But we have been told that hse is slowly improving.

I got great news yeasterday when I got back to Denver. They had to do another surgery on Sunday. They finally figured out what was wrong. There was some damaged and dead tissue around her stomach. They removed that and she is doing really well. I went to the hospital yesterday and while i was there the nurse came out and told us that Katie was awakes and she wanted her mom. OMG my friend ran so fast into that ICU I have never seen her run that fast before.

It is. I got an update yesterday. She was drinking small amounts of liquid and Icechips. She also had a little bit of Jello. So she is really improving but is still in the ICU. They are now working on the fluid in her lungs. Keep positive thoughts and send positive energy to her!

That is great, Mel. I'm glad she's doing better. So I'm still around. I did have fall break on the 7,8, and 9th...and as luck would have it I developed an infection in my throat and ears and basically spent the entire week laying on the couch before I finally went to the doctor last Friday. I'm going to make a commitment to check in around here at least every couple of days. I'm so swamped with school work and my job, but I miss you guys so much! So I need to prioritize I'll be around more, is what I'm trying to say
