I've seen most of them. Loved Kirk's fight with the Gorn.

They show them really late here, so I usually catch parts of episodes when I'm talking to KJ. LOL. I actually got to see the one I was named after a few months ago, so that was really cool!!
But I totally want to rent them. I love the movies, and I think it'd be really cool to watch the series.

I love TOS. They are extremely campy and let's face it the acting is rather stiff at times. However, you have to love the dry wit and humor that abounded on that show. Some of the greatest oneliners in history are between Spock and McCoy! My absolute favorite episode was the "Trouble with Tribbles". When I was little, I loved that episode and always wanted a tribble (now I have two!).
The trouble with TOS is that it is so "dated" compared to the others. Let's not mention they had zero dollars to use for sets and props. When it's compared to the others, it sometimes falls short.
TOS has one thing going for it, though. It was pure Roddenberry, with his total hope of the future outlook. I still watch them and wish things were more like they were on the show.

I totally understand this but I wonder if any of you understand that in 1968 it was the 'Best Looking" science fiction show on the air. If you can instead of comparing it to the later treks, compare it to "Lost In Space" which aired at the same time as TOS, and you'll see what I mean. I've been a science fiction reader since I was about 12, TOS was closer to what I'd been reading than any other Television show or Movie (with the exception of "The Day The Earth Stood Still") up to "Star Wars" in the Seventies. That's certainly true. My dad owns all of the Lost in Space series, and I can attest to the fact that it was rather cheap, especially towards the end.

I've heard of the Lost in Space robot made of vacuum tubes and a fish bowl. (I think that was how it was described) I like TOS too, but some of the scenes are over/under acted. Other than that, And occasionally you do run across those episodes that haven't been played a million times and honestly don't remember the ending so it's a fun and new experience. Plus, since I felt this fit better in here, Captain Vic! s56.photobucket.com/albums/g182/javakat343/?action=view¤t=captinvic.jpgI have to say, he looks pretty convincing. I couldn't find a pic of him aiming the phaser, but I know there were some taken at the con. The actor is Vic Mignogna the voice of Ed in FMA.
