Undiscovered Country... I've seen all the Star Trek movies, but I don't remember how that one ended. The only parts I remember were Spock doing the mind meld with that Vulcan woman, Chekov's line about the boots, and the Klingon's *pink* blood floating around, lol.

Haha, well, they had just finished.. you know, saving everybody, and they had returned to the Enterprise. Then Starfleet ordered them to come back into dock, and none of them wanted to because they were retiring in three months and wanted to enjoy it while it lasted. So Spock said, "If I were human... I would tell them to go to hell." And then Kirk told Sulu to take them out and fly wherever he wanted.

Yeah, I don't really care for that one. But the one I never really watch is the Motion Picture. Nate wanted to watch all of them when the new movie came out. I asked him which he wanted to watch he said lets just watch all of them. I said "Are you sure about that??" He understood why I said that after we watched it. LOL

I think the new movie is good on its own, but it's hard for me to accept as canon. I grew up on TOS, not Voyager, so my childhood memories are of Kirk, Bones, Scotty, Spock, and everyone else. While I was watching the movie, I kept thinking to myself "wait - he wouldn't do that!" (although please don't ask which moments these were, because I can't remember ;D ) and I didn't like the implications of the Vulcan tragedy. -shrug- Enjoyable on its own, though, for me.
I'll stick with my very minority vote of liking Generations best. ;D Although Scotty saying "hellllo, Computer!" in TVH is pretty awesome too.

No worries DDL, I remain in the very minority of Trek fans who refuse to watch the new movie!!!

What you also have to remember is that they started this waaaay back with Kirk's dad. They changed time from all that way. So his upbrining is now without his fater, who in cannon, was such an influential part of his life. He had to grow up with a pretty cranky step-fater, his mother sounds like she was away a lot, he never thought about Starfleet till Pike came along... I think with how his new life played out, it was as dead on as Kirk as you could be. Just look at Nemisis. If Picard had lived Shinzon's life he would have been different. Time would have been different. Granted I'm sad that Vulcan was distroyed but come on now... sometimes bad things happen. I for one love the new time line and cannot wait for more. If you just watch it for none other than the acting alone! The cast played thoes parts like they grew up with Trek their whole lives. I heart them!

KJ, allow me to point out that Vulcan was destroyed prior to Tuvok's birth. That means no Tuvok infultration of the Maquis. That means no Voyager going after them. That means no getting trapped in the Delta Quadrant. And THAT means no J/C.
Wait, this new time line thing might not be all bad.......

J/C are destined by fate. They'd have been together in this new timeline as well. Oooo! Good facfic idea!!!!!!!
