That's cool Mara. Garrett's one of those people you don't really have to know anybody to get to though. All you have to do is make an impression on him. He'll remember you. If that doesn't work, stalk him just a tad bit. He'll eventually give in.  Yeah, well to be 100% honest (and this is not an insult to anyone), I think there are stars who enjoy one on one face time with their fans in a casual setting like the hotel bar and I think there are stars who don't. Or some that don't even mind it, but they want to feel more in control of the situation. Plus, let's be serious, in Columbus Tim Russ and John Billingsley were down in the bar. Billingsley was playing cards with some fans. Russ was hanging out with the Vulkon crew. Terri, or whatever her name is from Vulkon wanted them to find a VIP spot because fans were standing around watching Dizzy and Tim Russ. That's where being friends with Froggy(before he hated me) and Reddick would have come in handy. But, they didn't get a VIP room. If Kate had been in the bar, for starters she wouldn't have been with the Vulkon team, as there seems to be no real love loss there. And it would have been a MADHOUSE. Everyone would have been down there. The best I remember in Cleveland, Mel, KJ, and I were sitting in the lobby, too terrified to go into the bar the first night. Froggy came up and joined us at some point, then Fernando, then John. So in that case we didn't really have to do anything, the party came to us. We didn't really hang out with any stars persay, well except Reddick, if you consider him a star as the only one we were there to see was Garrett. WE met Garrett the next day though and hung out with him at karaoke. Wow, that was a really long post just to basically say that the stars are out there, and you can usually meet them and spend some time with them. You just have to be bold. |

Haha, yes Garrett is very friendly. However, I'm the type of person who really needs help when it comes to meeting people. I rarely ever take the initiative to walk up to someone. I'm always waiting for someone to walk up to me. I'm not shy or anything, I just honestly don't know what to say. I could go on forever about it if I wanted to, but I have a hard time speaking in general. It's not a physical thing, but I honestly don't think in words. Even last night when I was having a blast I only spoke when spoken to. Most of the time it just never occurs to me to talk. Anyway, I really could go on forever trying to explain it, but basically that's why I try to have more social people with me. Trek Expo is much different, in that everyone is more likely to come and talk to me. Also, from the fact that they recognize me from registration.
Haha and I could see myself as one of those stars who doesn't exactly jump right into mingling. I wouldn't steer completely clear of attendees, but I probably would stay where I'm comfortable. At least for a while.

Well, I'll let you in on a little secret......When we were in Cleveland, we spent the whole morning walking through the dealer's room and listening to Q and A's. We were literally like 20 feet away from Garrett. Mel and KJ kept asking if I was ready to go meet him. But I was terrified. If Paul hadn't intervened, I don't know how long I would have waited before going up and saying hello.
It's kind of like I had built up meeting him in my head so much that I was scared to actually do it. But then, as we were walking over there, Garrett gave me this look, and I just felt all of the apprehension disappear. Scared Sarah left and Flirty Sarah kicked in!
Like I said, you just have to be bold. I know it feels like you're stepping out of your element, but it is SOOOOOO worth it!!!!

lol that's totally how I felt when I had my chance to talk to Picardo! I had spent weeks thinking about meeting and what I would say. By the time the event came I was so nervous and found anything I'd come up with to say to be childish or fangirlish. I slowly walked my way over to his table, but couldn't bring myself to make the first move in conversation. Instead, I ended up stopping at Ethan Phillips' table and doing some chatting with him. I finally thought ofthr perfect thing to say to Picardo on Saturday night after Doc & Neelix's show (brain fart on what it's called), but there were quite a few people that walked up to them so I figured I could speak to him on Sunday. To my dismay, he was gone  |

when i was small my mom had the most terrible time keaping me away from strangers lol the only person i would have a mega shy spell with would be Kate,it would take a jack hammer to get my mouth open just to say Hi lol.Now when it Come to Nemoy that is another story i am dieng to talk that man's vulcan ears off!!!!even though i know the chance of geting close to him is about zero i can still dream!!.
