I have Chronic Voyager/Janeway Syndrome.... Symptom's include....constant watching of Voyager, sleeplessness because of constant watching of Voyager, consciously and unconsciously dreaming of Voyager, eye soreness from constant staring at computer screen looking up Voyager, headache's from constant tv/computer Voyager interaction, back pain/stiffness /decreased movement/ muscle pain from constant sitting at computer researching anything Voyager, carpal tunnel syndrome from regular responding to Voyager forums, fits of rage at 'bashers' on Voyager forums, ear infection brought on by listening to loud music, on YouTube, all of which are about Voyager, irritability due to the fact that you must go to work and not watch Voyager, trouble concentrating at work/real life because you are replaying Voyager episodes in your mind, impaired social skills/behavior because of usage of dialogue from Voyager such as, "my car is having problems with its warp core, my replicator has been giving me trouble, I knew I should have used the transporter today, computer deactivate my boss, you are dismissed, etc," personality changes when attempting to mimic Captain Janeway, cravings for coffee, black....just to have something in common with Captain Janeway, depression because you cannot get your hair the same color of Janeway's, eagerness to travel across the country to see Voyager's Captain, tension headache's due to stress and lack of... Coffee, Black... , severe body pains/aches/strains and deprivation of favorite foods from massive diet and fitness overhaul to look good beside Janeway, nausea, migraines, and sense of impending doom from constant nervousness of the possible embarrassment in front of Janeway, development of asthma from persistent anxiety as upcoming Janeway event approaches, possible stroke/heart attack from rise in extremely high blood pressure upon Janeway's presence, and finally uncontrolled emotion after experiencing complete, awaited bliss meeting YOUR one-and-only Captain Kathryn Janeway! Please take heed, for this disease has NO known cure. If you are experiencing anything on this list, please be aware that this is only a small manifest of symptom's, other's are advised to post any other compulsion, depression, difficulty, duress, pressure, pain, strain, trouble, urgency, and/or any other symptom's that could possibly help, counsel, console, instruct, inform, advise, guide, mentor, prepare, encourage, point-out, urge, warn, or update on this fortuitous Chronic syndrome. ~KJl

other symptoms include, but are not limited to:
fits of rage due to WMM crashing after you've just spent 20 minutes perfecting a scene in your Voyager fan video, insomnia caused by excessive Voyager exposure, severe depression experienced when the J-Team shut down, loss of all friends who can't begin to comprehend your "hobby."

You grow downright irrate at situations such as this : I was looking on youtube today and found this video of an interview Kate did a few years ago for Tea, and the interviewer is a complete idiot. First he says "Also known as Kathryn Jen-a-way," to which Kate composes herself and then interrupts him to correct him. Then he insults trek fans by saying "trekkies are so hard core and I've heard, here you are in the performance of your life and there are all these trekkies in costumes in the audience." Kate cuts him off again in mid sentence to tell him that we are called "trekkers" not "trekkies." He then calls us 'trekkies' again, after that. She goes on to say that "its extraordinary, their allegiance is unparralleled, and I have to say I feel extremely supported by them." Ok, even if you're not a trek fan, if you are interviewing someone, you should do your homework. Janeway is not a hard name to pronounce. I can just imagine that she had to be thinking this guy was a complete moron. You definitely shouldn't insult an actor's fans infront of them. Especially if that actor is Kate, since we all know her loyalty for her fans. Here's the link if you want to be completely disgusted like I was. Ofcourse she handled it with poise and grace. That's why we love her. Click Here

He didn't! Grrrrr. The Nerve. Not only know your story, but what about basic manners? Gaaaa! Reporters.
Another symptom I have recently developed is obsessive compulsive spending disorder, on anything Voyager, examples of which can be anything of the following.....posters, calendars, magazines, books, DVD's, dolls, convention tickets, etc.
I have exercised enough restraint not to buy "shattered," Kate Mulgrew's personal copy of the script. I do hope it is sold fast, as my symptom's become increasingly hard to control.

Ha ha, just take deep breaths and slowly stand up from the computer. Don't look back.
But seriously, a new condition I have:
I interject Kate into every conversation I have, whether it has anything to do with the topic of discussion or not....(i.e. if my friend were to come up and talk to me about how people spell her name wrong, I would immediately go into the tale of the mispronunciation of Janeway!). I also tell these stories to people whom I know, without a doubt, could not care less.
I find myself watching videos of Kate interviews, other shows, etc. inorder to determine which mannerisms are Mulgrewisms, and which are purely Janewayism. (for example, the running of her fingers over her fist when talking is a Mulgrewism, not a Janewayism. Death glare, pure Janewayism).
And don't forget the chronic headaches from trying to determine what Janeway really would do in any given situation.
Yes, my disease is progressing quite steadily. I fear that I have entered the most severe stage. From here, there is no turning back.

Ok, I'm so depressed. I wanna cry. A certain web-master who shall remain nameless ruined my day.
So this is to her.....
Excuse me Miss HighAndMighty.....but....I can ask Kate any question I want to. And EVEN if it is not traditional, and I may take a tad bit more time getting out....who are you to assume you can tell people what they can and cannot say to Kate. I do realize people came to hear her speek, but you should also take into consideration the amount of time and money some people would spend for just two minutes of someone's time just to let them know what they do is appreciated even inspiring.
Besides..... Is not the point of a convention is that it is for the fans? Do the actors not come there for the fans?
Thak you ~Kj
*sigh* now that I am done being petulant....I needed to vent that. I'm sure the Evil Lady that mad me mad is a wonderful woman just trying to give usefull pointers.....to the newbies.

I'm sure she is simply trying to make sure that peole don't get their hopes up that they are going to sit there and have 20 minutes of face time with Kate. However, kj, as I told you before, we are going to prove to her that she is completely and totally wrong.
After all, star trek fans are creative people, and they enjoy the creativity of others. I mean, seriously, HOW MANY videos have we watched on youtube? Clearly we enjoy to see what other fans can create. So lets not let her stress you out. She's just snotty and thinks she is somebody because she has more access to kate than those who join her board. She's trying to feel all important when really she's not.

Ok, you cheered me up the other day when I felt all bad about saying something about kate that wasn't 100% completely positive, and now I feel the need to do the same for you. Just watch this until you feel better: www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0d1Ibsq7p4If that fails to work, I have a fail safe back up plan guaranteed to work every time: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnoi6o-MjHw

I Have developed a new symptom.... Insomnia brought on by countless hours burning episodes of Voyager.....and endlessly searching for that "perfect" song, so you may make as many fanatic videos as you can to keep yourself occupied till you meet the real Janeway. Then when you do finally lay down you realize after posting a superb video, that you missed a clip that would have made it even better....grrrr.
