ugh NO!!! Resolutions was ridiculous. Well I take that back. The idea was good. Chakotay and his happy-go-ucky-we've-been-on-the-planet-for-two-whole-days-so-you-should-just-be-happy-and-make-a-life-here-with-me-and-forget-about-ever-going-home-because-look-I-can-make-you-a-stupid-bathtub-attitude. WHATEVER!!!! The very fact that he told her to give up proves that he knows absolutely NOTHING about her in the first place.

Just kidding, something told me you'd hate it. He wanted her to give up because he LOOOOOOOOOVES her, and wanted her for himself. Who doesn't, right?

Yes, but if he loved her....he'd want what was best for her....and what was best for her was not giving up.

He backed off when she told him she wasn't ready to give up. Then the storm destroyed all of her equipment and made the decison for her.

He backed off by not saying it to her anymore....but he still kept doing stuff....making the place more "homey."

Yes, he definately kept making stuff to make her more comfortable. I want a bathtub like he built for her, that thing was awesome!

I might never appreciate the episode in the same way again though.  I don't know. It did kind of bug me how he was so hot to give up that fast, but it didn't strike me as if he had an agenda with making all those things. I mean, okay, yes, he did, but he also did it just to make her feel more comfortable too. How could she work as effectively if she kept wishing she had a stupid bathtub? Give her the dumb tub and she'll be a little less stressed out, increasing productivity.  |

Yes, so in a way, he helped her get as far as she did with her research because he made the food and fixed up the living quarters, so all she had to concentrate on was finding a cure. Good thinkin' DDL. Or should I say Lt. DDL?

No. He wanted to stay on that planet with Janeway....because he knew that would be the only way he'd ever come close to getting her.....

His plan would have worked, too, if it weren't for those darn Vidians.........muhahaha. I think he did miss his Marquis friends, though, so I figured he'd want to get home. At that point in time, Janeway was still trying to get home to Mark, so I guess that was her motivation, besides the welfare of the crew.

Janeway is an explorer. She never would have been content on staying on the planet. It would have gotten old after two of CHakotay's stories. She would have found a way to either repair or replace the equpment, and would have found a way to save them. Chakotay and Janeway were never meant to be....and it was a pathetic attempt on his part.
