I LOVE that movie Galaxy Quest with Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver. It was a great spoof of the Star Trek show/convention scene, but I think it spoofed it in a tasteful and lighthearted way. What do you guys think about it? "Never give up, never surrender......."

I loved it for Alan Rickman!
When he snatches up the picture to sign and complains all the time....
Holly Hell....I have never laughed so hard, as I have with that movie.
Great, now I have to go watch it......

Oh gosh. I have that entire movie MEMORIZED (literally - I can quote the movie all day and it drives people nuts ). I loved Fred's character. One of my favorite lines is from him: "The floors are so clean". That was hilarious. Have you seen the deleted scenes too? I liked it when Alexander decided to figure out what Gorignak's motivation was. Or when Quellek showed Alexander his quarters, complete with a spiked bed.

I loved it for Alan Rickman! Great, now I have to go watch it...... Haha..........I'm the same way, when someone mentions that movie, I have to watch it; and yes I looove Alan, too!! ;D ;D DDL: No I haven't seen the deleted scenes, I've only watched it on VHS. OMG, that sounds hilarious; I'm going to have to watch the DVD just for those scenes. I love it when Sigouney says,"let's get outta here before one of those things kills Guy" (cause he's the "red shirt" of the show- hee hee).

Alan Rickman's great. He's wonderful as a villain. Oh, wow, you're going to have to see the deleted scenes. Some aren't wonderful (like where Gwen rips open her shirt to distract two of the aliens, which explains why it's open later in the movie but still not anything I'd like to have seen), but my favorite has to be when Alexander did his "I am a rock," speech to figure out Gorignak's motivation. He decided that Gorignak hated the vibrations made by Jason's movement and as he came to this decision he fell backwards out of his trance. The entire idea was cut out though. One thing I've always wondered: around the time they're near the miners Guy has been complaining that he doesn't have a last name for awhile and no one remembers what it was. But when Jason assigns duties to them, he refers to Guy as "Fleegman". Had he suddenly remembered? I never really figured it out.

I love love love that movie!! Love Alan Rickman and Tony Shaloub especially (I'm a huge Monk fan ) It's so funny. Obviously a Trek spoof, and nicely done. I thought it was funny how Sigourney's character always had nothing to do but repeat what the computer said. I def. remember plenty of that in TOS lol

Also, when the piglizard was licking Jason, it really reminded me of the original Stargate movie. I love all the things they spoof in Galaxy Quest. ;D

Galaxy Quest is so great! The whole parody. I think my favorite part is Alan Rickman not wanting to do the alien lines "again". I could definitely see that happening backstage with "some" characters from "some" sci fi shows. One good thing about Galaxy Quest is that each time you watch it, you see something totally new that you missed before.

I'd seen this movie several times but I just rewatched it at a Scifi Marathon last weekend. It's so funny there were times I had tears streaming down my face! They get all the jokes, all the timing just right. I was especially (re-)impressed with the "coming out of spacedock" scene. The directors, actors, and editors deserve HUGE kudos for that one. The whole audience was laughing for like five minutes straight, and it can't have been easy to film! Good pick, 'Nessa!

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!... omg... Alan Rickman, Tim Allen, and the others... this has got to be one of the best Sci-Fi Comedy movies I've ever seen. I can watch it over and over again. My favorite line out of the entire movie is after the ship has been heavely d**nged and Alexander get's up from the floor, sweating and heavy breathing.
Jason: Alexander, Where are you going? Alexander: To see if theres a Pub!
has to be my favorite line cuz it's something I'd say!...in the middle of a crisis, I'd have to have a good stiff drink...

That's a great line, I agree. I also loved it when Alexander said, "You broke the ship? You BROKE the bloody ship??"

lol oh yea.. I think Rickman had all the best lines... except for the part after they ship is destroyed first time and Tommy's laying on the ground letting out high pitched screams and when he's lifted up he say's "AHH DON"T TOUCH IT don't touch it" I almost wet myself on that one...
or when Tony Schalubs character starts making out with the Alien woman and Guy goes " OH! that's not right"

Oh, Mah, you so need to. xD It's beyond awesome. If we end up visiting and you haven't seen it yet, I'll bring my copy along.
