I'm about half way through Escape (Book 2 in the series) and it's not too bad. I love the whole time travel theme to it. Plus, I love the fact it's centered on B'elanna and Harry with a whiney Neelix in the background. I happen to love time travel stories because I love the whole complex thinking that goes along with it. Before/after/during...I love that that kind of wacky multiple level thinking.
I have to admit, the writing isn't that great. I'm mustering through because I want to get the "writing" style down. Star Trek has a definite style about it , that's for sure. The technobabble isn't that bad, it's just another form of geekspeak.

"Escape" is actually good. Those stories with parallel universes and time jumps are often complicated and sometimes give me a headache but this one's brilliant and works out fine.
Very exciting here and there and also interesting that some of the story is written from an alien's perspective.
It's also amazing that the authors hadn't seen a single episode when they wrote the book because they started writing it before the first episode was aired, only having the scripts and some photos of the characters available.

I want so bad to read that book! I started reading it in early 2000, but I'd lost it and didn't find it until I had to return it to the library when we were moving out of state! I don't remember what chapter I was in either, but it's been so many year I might as well start over anyway! I've gone to book stores (used and new) but I can't find it anywhere. I don't really wanna buy it online, but I might try looking again after school gets out this year so that I don't have to wait until I'm done with my reading assignments to start reading a book I have.
I really like stories with alternate time lines, time travel, and alternate universes. I have the VOY book "Echoes" and it's incredible! (First Trek book I ever read twice! Actually, I think it's the only one!) It's kinda like a sequel to the episode "Deadlock," but more like it's suggested as to why it's only every other universe. OK, I don't wanna be a spoiler, so I'll stop here.

LOL I remember reading those a long time ago.
You know Mara I had really good luck finding them online. Plus there are certain people on amazon that sell more than one of the books in a set. So if you need more than just this one you should look into in. I got most of mine off amazon and they were are in really good condition.

bump!
OH! YAY!! I mentioned in my report from Trek Expo 2008 that I finally bought this book! I decided to start it over and I've only read chapter 1 so far. My life has been pretty crazy lately and I'm not much of a reader. I'm hoping to have it finished before school starts because by then I won't have time to read anything but school stuff!
