That's ridiculous! Do they offer used text books at your school?

Yes. However, all of mine were new. They either had no used ones available, or the books were new additions.
I mean, it's not a huge deal....I had the aid to cover it. It's just insane. I can't imagine how people who don't have financial aid get by.

523? I hate when they keep switching text books every other semester and you have to keep buying new ones! It sucks, and those books are SO NOT worth the price they charge for them. It's bloody robbery! My school has elected to go to e-books so they are a teeny bit cheaper, plus alot of my professors are putting all the "pertinent info" into "packets" that you get at the copy shop for cheaper. Otherwise, half of us couldn't afford the text books. Plus, I noticed that each semester, they put more and more books on reserve at the library! I haven't gotten books just yet.....I've been putting it off....I'm living in denial right now! LOL. I'm sorry it's costing so much for you. I hate that an education costs so much these days.

They say they have to change the books every other semester to "keep up with new information". As far as I'm concerned, when I took world literature, it hadn't changed...........umm especially since we studied really old stuff like the Odyssey, Dante's Inferno, Beowulf, you know- stuff that's been around since, oh I don't know, A LONG LONG TIME!!! I can understand it in science books, but it never made sense to me when it came to history and literature.

Thank goodness for financial aid JF! I was worried about you! I'm so hoping my books can hang around a few semesters....I priced them all yesterday...are you ready? 978.00!!! I about fainted. Luckily, the school has a program that you can stretch your book bill out over the quarter! yipes.
