for the convention I'm just wearing jeans and a t shirt.....that's the easy part. kj and I are more obsessing over what we are going to wear to the banquet.

The lady I talked to about the convention said pants/shirts would be great, but that she's seen people dress casually before. I would think people would want to get decked out if you would be hangin' around stars and godesses, like Kate!! I don't think you'd have to wear a ball gown, but a nice dress or outfit like one you'd wear out to a nice dinner. I don't know if I'm going to the banquet yet; not sure if it's worth it. Is Kate gonna be there, ya think?? If so it would be TOTALLY worth it, but I wouldn't be able to eat, being nervous. She'll probably go home after the autographs Saturday, with a sore wrist.

Okay, I´ve just finished reading your comments on what Kate said on political issues. It´s quite interesting how different feelings can be about that. I attended the FedCon and I can tell you...what you´ve seen on that clip is just a little bit of what she said about Iraque and Bush. Btw. she wasn´t pissed off because of that question, she was pissed off because of Bush´s politics. And she got standing ovations from almost all people in the room after her speech. Don´t get me wrong, I accept anybody saying "politics shouldn´t be a topic at a convention", but in Germany it´s gladly seen, cause as you all know we have quite a brutal war history. So, actually Kate´s question made me and a lot other people I know think about some issues regarding our history. I don´t wanna go to deep into it, cause I guess you wouldn´t like it. But if you like to know anything about it, just ask. Whatever you may think about that...let me tell you this...it was the most intense panel I´ve ever seen of her. I could feel her voice vibrating in my chest. It was an awesome moment and I won´t forget it  |

Awe luna, so glad you posted!!! I think Kate is totally entitled to her opinion, certainly. I just don't think that a convention is the place to discuss it. And i am sure she spoke far more liberally in Germany than she ever would here....atleast I hope so.

Ya, I think so. She seemed a little bit unsure if she should talk about it, because of her experiences on other conventions. And it´s certainly different and more dangerous when she does it in the US, no question about it. But I´m sure you all will have a great time with her. No matter what she will be saying... at least I´ll keep my finger´s crossed for you  |
