So I am having a recital on the 7th of next month!!! OMG I have only been having voice lessons for maybe close to a month and a half and already a recital.
Well it's not actually for me, but everyone....but that's not the point...OMG!!!
I have two songs I am going to sing.... the first is an Italian song called Star vicino..... and the other is a quite popular song from My Fair Lady called I Could have Danced All Night....which carries a nice big g note at the end....which ironically is my easiest note to hit....go figure.
Now I'm rambliing.....
So I am starting to freak (obviously) and I have even gone as far to now have two lessons a week.... instead of the one because of my freak-out....and they are in no way cheap.... which should tell you how much of a nervous wreck I really am!
So I am supposed to compile a list of everything I think could go wrong... and then work out everything that is indeed in my power to control.
So...anyone whom can think of something that might go wrong please help me out here and shout it out. The more I realize are ridiculous and the ones I can fix will totally be a great help to me.
Here is what I got so far....
1. I can get up there to start....and have to run off the stage to puke.
2. My mouth will be so dry that I will go to sing and nothing will come out.
3. I will be SOOOOO nervous it will be choppy.
4. I could trip on the way up.
5. My voice could break from lack of air.
6. I could pass out in the middle of my song.

You're *supposed* to make that list? What kind of an assignment is that?
Anyhoo....
7. You could get distracted and completely miss your cue. (Simply avoided by PAYING ATTENTION! n_n )

8. You could forget the words to the songs

The list is supposed to help me evaluate the things that are *in* my control so that I can fix them and know that those things can't/won't be anything to worry about anymore. Did that make any sense? Anyway.... 9. I could picture everyone in their underwear...thereby....bursting into a fit of giggles preventing me from singing. 10. I could become a stone statue and go completely monotone.

ya, gotcha.... 11. Your voice could crack on an important note. Yup got that one under control. Apparently, the only reason your voice would 'crack' is lack of air to the note....so I just have to remember to breathe....deeply. LOL Easier said than done.
