Doing pretty well! Josh FINALLY got his job opening and will leave for basic on January 24. I've taken off work two weeks in December and we'll stop by my parents' house for Christmas on our way to our camping/hunting trip destination. I'm very much looking forward to it!

Ugh... must be a bad time for sisters-in-law. The older of mine went to the hospital last night and was diagnosed with a definite ulcer and possible urinary tract infection. My favorite food item at Thanksgiving is actually turkey gravy. I put it on everything but dessert! Then, even if I don't really watch it, it's not Thanksgiving without a football game on TV. Depending on the mood, probably a Christmas movie later while we put up the tree. Depending on what deals are going on, I doubt I'll go shopping on Black Friday. I might try out Cyber Monday this year.

I never go out on Black Friday, I would rather pay the extra money than to deal with the people. I don't like crowds at all.

I don't like crowds, either, but sometimes deals are too good to pass up. I also make sure that someone is with me, haha.

So, Josh finally left for basic training. I'm doing surprisingly well. The times that he was gone for only *two* weeks I cried a lot and was happy for barely a moment at a time. This is day 2 of his (at least) 8 1/2 weeks gone. I've cried some, but am pretty chill. Not excited happy, but happy and calm about it. My family is moving back here and my mom and sister are moving ahead of time (this weekend) in with me. I have another job to occupy my time (and I work that one literally whenever I want ). Not so looking forward to moving and knowing no one again, but definitely looking forward to being a military housewife!

Being a military house wife is hard when you move all the time with meeting new people but it is an amazing experience!!! Let me know if you need to chat I know how difficult military life can be! Hang in there!

Only two weeks left until I fly down for Josh's graduation from basic! (My first time flying haha! Thankfully my sister-in-law Ashleigh, an experienced flier, will be with me.) People have told me that the time will go by fast, and now that the time is coming to an end I'm starting to believe them, haha. I'll be living in or near Vegas by the time the convention comes around! We'll see who goes and if it'll be well worth it to me. If Garrett is there, that might be good enough! LOL

Hello! I logged in about month ago and saw no new posts . I randomly decided to dust off my Proboards app, so I logged in today and saw KJ posted. I really kinda miss this place. Good times have definitely been had here. My favorite being when snowbelle joined. Everyone was on almost constantly! Sadly, I hardly even watch Star Trek anymore. I still love it, but I just have so many other things in my life now. Actually, a couple weeks ago something led me to looking at the TNG episode list. I hardly remembered what any episode was about! I knew that was too far from my trek fandom and started watching any episodes that I didn't fully remember. I'm still working on it; watching about 2 episodes a day, 4-5 days a week. It's funny how life seems just as busy when you *don't* have a job. When I was working, I thought for sure that whenever I made it to "housewife" status that I would have plenty of time for everything. I'm even trying to read every day so I can return books to the library without having to renew, but by the time I get around to reading my brain is tired enough to not be able to focus. Hmm... Maybe if Pinterest didn't exist for a day I *would* be able to get everything done! LOL! Actually, I know the second-main culprit is the fact that I'm not fully unpacked. There's certain things that I want to do every day, like sweep and clean the whole kitchen (hubby always leaves the cleanup to me and we have a bit of an ant problem :/), but Josh is still working on realizing that just because he doesn't see a major change in how the house looks that doesn't mean I didn't do anything. Oh yeah, BTW, we've finally moved. Josh got stationed at Cannon AFB, New Mexico. We're living in base housing in the small town of Portales, population <18,000. The house is great besides the fact that the floor everywhere is linoleum tile. Sure, it's easy to clean, but it's not pretty -- especially with all stark-white walls, haha. We do have plans to paint one wall in almost every room. We just need to go buy the paint now, haha. However, I have made light of the floor situation by sliding in my socks every chance I get haha! Anyway, that was too long. Hello!! lol

I saw your post on FB about dusting off and app and I knew what it was. It has been a while since I am been on here. I really need to be better about it. The white walls and linoleum are pretty standard features with base housing. But it is really nice to live on base because you can meet more people. We live off base and I miss living on base at Wright Patt.
I often think about Voyager or any Star Trek in general and how I am neglecting it. I hardly watch episodes any more.I actually got Nate to watch Voyager and he liked it. Life has been crazy here in Colorado over the past few months with major hail storms and flooding, to the side of the mountain burning (very scary and sad) and now what happened last week. It is sad to see such things happen in a beautiful state. Nate applied for his PhD so we may be moving again next August if he gets the slot.
It is also hard to believe that Zander will be 1 in three days. Where has the time gone...

No wonder we all have been not around. Real Life takes over! Of course that happens from time to time or "Time And Again" Recently I had to put my cat Tiger down. He got really sick and was taking on lots of medical problems. He lived to be 16 years old though. It still hurts. I've had the orange and white kitty since I was 10 years old. I'm currently 26. That aside I'm teaching ASL at my church. And I'm also still learning it. The plan is to become an interpreter in hospitals.
