OK, not "Star Trek" per se, but they were written by Roxann Dawson as a result of Voyager and there are definitely similarities. I haven't finished the third book yet, so if you've read it, please no spoilers yet! I think by reading it I've gained a better insight on how Torres may have thought since her character is similar in some ways to Flores, the woman the series is all about.
And... in book two, she kills a guy named Tom.
Usually the names of her passing victims weren't mentioned, but for some reason Tom's was, a couple times, though his character was inconsequential. Hmm.
