I'm coming to the planning meetings this year for the upcoming Trek Expo in Tulsa. We've already got a few confirmed guests:
William Shatner JG Hertzler (Martok) Robert O'Reilly (Gowron) and.... Garrett Wang is coming back!! YAY!!
The Klingons are going to do photo ops and their stage time in full Klingon garb! I just might dress up as Vulcan for that...

I'm getting so excited for Tulsa's Trek Expo this year and it's still months away! I've also been listening to Trekcast, the #1 rated Star Trek podcast, which is mostly what's getting me excited. I can't wait to see Martok and Gowron there! It's not just the actors, but they're going to dress up as Klingons! And Garrett Wang is coming back! I've heard multiple times that William Shatner is a big disappointment to meet, but I still look forward to at least seeing him in person. Honestly, my favorite part about Trek cons is the people that attend and volunteer. Seeing my fellow volunteers and all the conversations that go on... it's like home. Like a giant family reunion we go to every year and some famous people just happen to show up. Also, there are attendees that you never forget. There's this one couple that got married at Trek Expo 2006 (the year before I started going, but I saw some wedding pictures on the website) and I see them all the time. Last year, her birthday was that weekend, so her husband got all the stars to sign her birthday card. It was so sweet! Then, there's this other couple. I saw them the first year I went and he was wearing a 29th century uniform. I swear he looked just like Lt. Ducane from Relativity. There's always one day where he dresses like Indiana Jones. Last year (or maybe it was the year before) I overheard him talking to someone and he said he got the pattern for the original Indiana Jones jacket and made his from that! One bad thing has happened both times I volunteered so far. The first year, there was a guy who offered for me to get involved in light saber fighting acts with some friends and his girlfriend. I waited a while to e-mail him. By the time I figured he had written down his e-mail address wrong (he said he probably did) I'd lost the paper that had his phone number on it. I really was interested at the time! Of course, with all that went on that year (Josh coming back and us preparing to get married; school; crazy hours at work) it was for the best. Then, last year, one of the guys working sound saw that I was taking pictures with a professional camera (even though that one's 6 years old now; but Josh is finally getting his new one tomorrow!). He gave me his e-mail so I could forward him some pictures so he could add them to his resume. I didn't lose it later; I lost it that day! I still feel so bad... Anyway, that was way longer than I intended. I guess it's back to work now...
