When I was a kid I was a great admirer of the paintings of Vincent van Gogh. We learned about him a little in art class in 4th grade, but until recently the only thing I remembered was that his ear got cut off, haha. My love for his work was rekindled in season 5 of Doctor Who after watching the episode "Vincent and the Doctor." I later found and bought copies of my two favorite paintings of his at Walmart (Starry Night, and Vase with Twelve Flowers). Today, I saw a van Gogh calendar at Walmart on sale for $2 so I bought it without thinking twice! (I still hadn't chosen a calendar for this year anyway.) Now in the van Gogh mood, I decided to watch the Doctor Who episode again and read up on Vincent's life. Such a promising, yet sad story. The last line of the biography I read made me so happy. Not the first part, but the second part. "Vincent van Gogh's mother threw away quite a number of his paintings during Vincent's life and even after his death. But she would live long enough to see her son become a world famous painter." www.vincentvangoghart.net/Hehe, I just remembered the Voyager episode "Before and After," where the Doctor chose the name Vincent van Gogh in that timeline! And then he ends up going with "Joe." lol. Of course, after Admiral Janeway changed that timeline, I'm sure he'll come up with something better once again

I love art.com. You can buy art replicas and posters at different sizes and can even get it framed. I have yet to purchase anything from them, but I have a few on a wish list for when I have a bigger house to properly decorate. (A lot of Josh's art will also hang on the walls.) Mostly what's on my wish list are van Gogh, Norman Rockwell, and different Japanese art.
