I had signed up to do the Alzheimers walk here in Indianapolis, IN, BUT I had to make a choice. I either do the walk or take my SAT's to get into college. I figured that I would do the walk next year and do the SAT instead. I thought that is what Kate would want me to do. So, instead I came up with an idea where we can all help out! What would you all say to a penny drive? I thought that we could just NOT spend our pennies, just get a container to put them in as soon as you get them so you won't be tempted to, and collect them until the 27th of July next year...OR, if we don't have that much then, we can extend it until '09. It HAS to be that date because that is the date that Kate's mom passed. The one thing that I am having a hard time thinking of is a way to get all of the collection together so we can go into it together. I would REALLY like to tell the Association that we did this in honor of Joan Mulgrew, but I do need suggestions of how to get the money together. Please let me know how many of you want to help out on this. I am wanting to send it to the Dubuque Chapter. I think that we can really help out! Really good idea here!!! Maybe we can send the real check to the Dubuque chapter, and then present Kate with a huge check for the amount of what we raised! Of course that would have to be at a convention...That would rock!!! LOL! Ok, I just exicted, LOL!!! Anyways...let me know how many of you really want to help out on this. I have already stated on it, lol.

I have 4 people on board now. I am hopeing that a few more would like to jump on. You all don't have to do it though April, you can just do it for however long you want to. I hope that I didn't sound too pushy in the first post, I just got overexcited I guess. Please, if you can, help out with this. I am REALLY wanting us to surprise Kate with this in May...that is if she comes to Columbus for the Con that weekend. If you want to...you can save the change up for a month or two. We still need to find a way to get it all together though, but I really hope that I didn't scare you all away by the first post. I hope we get somemore crewmen to jump onboard;)

Could we not save up our pennys and then write a cheque to just one person, then they could do the cheque for the association? or did u want to present them with all the pennys? I think if I sent penny's the postage would be more than was in the box! lol Or u could open a seperate savings account with two people on it to put all the money in... that happens quite a bit over here if a group are saving for something

Sorry it took so long to get back. WOW, over a month LOL! Work and all that bs, keeps ya on your toes. Well, the answer to your question is yes...you can write out a check to me and I will put it in my savings account and then write out a check to the Association at the end of the drive. I also have a new myspace page dedicated to the drive. The addy is www.myspace.com/memory_drive. I have a paypal account of there so if you want to do it that way... This is still on you all if you want to help out.
