The main characters always works the dayshift and are always on the same shift.

They have dogs on the other side of the galaxy ("Ex Post Facto").

When you arrive to an unknown planet, you always run into the most important persons and stumble over some conspiracy as well.

The aliens always talk about "this quadrant" as if they know how the Federation has divided the galaxy ino four quadrants.

Actually, Harry Kim worked the night shift many times. Good point about the quadrant thing........how come everyone knows there's four, especially if they've never been to the alpha quadrant? How did Starfleet know about the Delta, before voyager ran into it........I wonder.
