This has been bugging me for a while now! In that episode it seems like the Talaxians can go anywhere they want in the galaxy since they can go from Talax to that asteriod field in such a short time (the mom's lifetime) so how did they do that, and why wasn't it brought up?

You know, that's a good question.
I'm going to rewatch the ep tomorrow and see if they say anything, though maybe someone else here knows...

You have to figure in that in the 7 years we were watching Voyager...a couple more than seven years passed in Star Trek time... and we aren't really sure how long those Telexaians had been traveling when we first met Nelix in the first episode...nor do we know how fast their ships could travel///
