It is a known fact that when you like/admire somebody, you may copy their mannerisms, vocal inflections, or facial expressions. What are your favorite Janewayisms and which do you find yourself doing the most? The J team website did a great job of naming many of these. If there’s not a term for one that you see, name it! My favorite Janewayism is the "Smiling Face Scrunch":  However, I’ve only used this facial expression on occasion. The Janewayism that I catch myself doing all the time is the “Thumb scratch” (scratching the inside of my thumb with my forefinger). Janeway does this when she’s thinking, and so do I. Oh, and I used to practice the “Dip & Turn”, just cause I thought it was so cool……  |

Hummm.....lets see.... And rasing one eyebrow.... I have taken up saying things like ....'Indeed'....'I beg your pardon'...and 'coffee black'. ....and pretty much try and mimic everything else I possibly can! |

LMAO........OMG I forgot about that pushing buttons video, it's HILARIOUS!!! It makes me love him even more. Thanks, KJ! That eyeroll ism is a good one, too. I do the one eyebrow thing, but I have to admit I got that from when I watched Xena alot. I did forget another one that I do all the time, the "Double Finger Summon/Point".  I found myself doing this one shortly after watching Renaissance Man ( I love it when she motions for that funny little alien guy to come to her using the "Double Finger Summon/Smiling Face Scrunch" combo........it's my fav!!!:  |

Ok....I'm sure there's more, but here's what came right to mind.
My hands are ALWAYS on my hips.
The eyeroll
I am guilty of the smiling face scrunch as well. Especially when I think someone/something is retarded.
I'm an avid thumb scratcher
The one eyebrow
And....not to brag or anything. But I give one hell of a death glare! LOL

I also like to do the half lip curl. You can see this in Fair Haven, right after she deactivates Michael. I'll post a picture later.

lets see...i roll my eyes a lot and raise my eyebrow even more. I also have my hands on my hips but i confess i usually only have one had on my hip while the other rests on my belly or i guesture with it.
I also cannot talk without using my hands (hence only having one hand on my hip) and the more agitated i am, the more they move!
i scratch my thumb but didn't know where it came from and i'm practising the death glare to use on my students....it's working too!

I think that most females talk with their hands, There was an article that I read on how men dont under stand the need for womes to tell half the conversation with their hand. Apparently it drives them nuts. They cant pick up on it because most men dont talk and move their arms. I thought that as really interesting. So ladies if you want to irriate (sp) a man, just talk with your hands!!! LOL
I too am guilty of giving the death glare. I did it today actually

I definitely talk with my hands and I seriously roll my eyes. I also do the hand thing where it's in the 'stop" position. I also do the one eyebrown thing, but i think I got that more from Spock than Janeway?

I did the "Double-handed Baby Stance" today.............I had to carry two very heavy carboys of water today from a lake to my car, so my back hurt a little. Hey guys, I found this picture and realized Kashyk MUST have really liked Janeway........he's copying her mannerism, the "One Arm Lean w/ Opposite Hand on Hip" stance, lol! (Chakotay is doing it, too, but we all know that he likes her already.) ;D ;D  |
