I haven't read so much of the "Virtual Voyager" stories since my favorite character isn't involved. But what I have seen so far is that they are well-written. But what's that "last chapter" warning? I guess they are killing off some of our favorites, they just have to ruin something, don't they?

I know the gist of what happens, but not who or why, Lynx. Safe to assume something really bad.
You still don't like the last chapter, Rowan? Ginga had said it was very moving and fitting for the character, but I'm still worried....

Anybody have an idea for which Voyager book would be the best one to start with? I'd like to start reading some (especially helpful for when Spike decides not to play any episodes for an entire week) but so far I've been amazed by how many errors people have been finding in them and if that's consistent then I'd like to determine if they're worth reading.

Thanks, I'll look into them. I hope my (completely worthless) library has them.

If you have a chance to read "Caretaker", then start with that one. If I should reccomend some good books, the I must recommend "The Black Shore" by Greg Cox, "Marooned" by Christie Golden and "Day Of Honor-Her Klingon Soul" by Michael Jan Friedman. Plus "Mosaic" and "Pathways". There are other good books as well. Read my bookreviews at: www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Park/1964/bookreviews.htmlSomewhat Kes-biased but still objective.

It is very moving but... well it made me cry...which I don't like (why are there nevr any happy endings any more?) but it just didn't feel right. After the long hard battle they have had they gave up too easily in the last chapter. I fould it all a bit too neat and consice and yet it didn't really resolve anything at all. I guess I wont ever like it but don't let that stop u. Just remember I warned u. Hey does anyone know of any other rediculously long books I can read instead of my assignment?

That book is huuuuge.
Another long one is "The Historian." Ask Mel, it took me a year (i started and stopped) to finish it! It's much more recent than "War and Peace".
DDL: My favorites are the String Theory trilogy which came out about a year and a half ago. They are in my opinion, Voyager's epic. In my opinion, if a Voyager movie was ever made, it should be these three books put into one.
I agree that Pathways and Mosaic are great too, just know that they are background books more so than story/adventure books.

Thanks, Red. I'll be sure to look for them. That may be true, JF, but I'd take a Voyager movie where Janeway was in a coma for a third of the movie over no Voyager movie at all.

If you want to make a Voyager movie which completely tries to undermine Janeway's character, you might as well not make one at all. Janeway is not a frail little creature who needs to be protected from herself, and any plot which suggests that she is is a complete farse, and obsurdity.

Well, I haven't read it. I thought they put her in a coma for legitimate reasons.
