Hey, Salina lives in NY. I wonder if she'd like to join you?
Well, nothing much new happening in my world. We have a conference coming up next week at work and part of my job description is to work registration. For some reason I love it so much! That's a big reason I had so much fun at Trek Expo this year even though I didn't get to see Amy Allen at all.

Have fun at work Mara! All I've been up to is working, sleeping, the usual. It seems like I have nothing to do and too much to do simultaneously, only I never end up getting any of it done. Grr, that's always annoying. I'm going to try to read some more of the Virtual Voyager. I've only read the first episode so far.

Ha ha, I know what you mean, Lauren. Since I have a night job it seems that the only thing I have time for during my off hours is sleep and a few chores/errands. I know that's not true, and I make time for friends and stuff, but I still haven't taken time to really figure out my schedule. Shouldn't be hard since I still work 9 to 5, it's just the other 9 to 5!

Wow, you work all night?? Wow. I like to stay up late, but I'm not sure I could make it all night more than one night a week ;D What kind of job is it?

I work for a car insurance company and we're open 24/7. I've had the graveyard shift in the past (stocking), so this wasn't a biggie for me. We don't get as many calls at night so I do a bit of socializing with my co-workers!

WOW alot has happened. Sorry that I havent been on much I have been extremely busy. I am glad that everyone is well and I am going to try and get on to post more. Here is what is new with me. In two weeks I will only be working one job again! Wahoo. Since I will be starting classes in August I couldnt work 66 hours and have two classes that I have to take. I am excited for classes to start. Im taking Physics 2 which basicall is an intro to Molecular Physics (we will see how crazy I go with this) It will be hard for me because I have a hard time understanding things I cant see, like molecules. The good news is I have a tutor Which brings up the next thing that you all dont know about, my boyfriend Nate (which is part of the reason I havent been on, he calls every night). I dont know where he was hiding all these years but after 5 years of not dating and having a relationship he just showed up. The tutor part comes in, he is a GPS Engineer for the Air Force and has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. My mom and I had a great time in Mexico. Tulum was beautiful, if you ever have the chance to go you should. The history and the beauty that was in the city and the thought of people living there in the past was just amazing. Well thats enough from me for now!!

Lauren-- I hear ya, too. I work and go home. Except when I work at my second job, then I work and work and go home.
Mel-- Good luck with your classes! Yeah, working two jobs and having school isn't real easy, though I've never worked as much as you! But your mention of a guy and 5 years brings me to what I came to write about:
There's this friend I have had for 5 years (we actually met 5 years ago this Thursday) and I've liked him on-and-off since then. During summer camp last year I became infatuated again and when we all came back home I started to think maybe he liked me too. I figured out he does and then he went away for 10 months (was supposed to be a year) to Texas for school. He came back just in time for camp this year and we've been getting closer. Long story short, we're sorta together. I say sorta because we're not boyfriend and girlfriend, at least not in the way people usually think. We haven't quite figured out what we are, at least not in words. On August 1st we're going to a Vampire Prom at Barnes & Noble in celebration of the new Twilight book coming out (which I haven't read, lol) and we're planning on taking pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to find some cheap (but good looking) vampire fangs by then. Dang, I wish Wal-Mart had their Halloween stuff out already....

Do you think that it might be time to have that conversation to figure it out? It is a bit intimidating at first but then you will know.
It took me a bit to talk about that with Nate. Turns out that he wanted to know more than I did. It ended up being a fun conversation, "What should I call you?" Was what he asked. LOL

Yeah, that would be a good idea I guess. Except I'm kinda hoping to wait until I'm able to talk to him more. I'm a quiet person and it really doesn't have anything to do with being shy, but like I need to learn how to talk to each person. Kinda like when someone loses a toe they need to relearn how to walk. Not like "one foot in front of the other," but it's a feel thing. (Gross analogy, but it works.)
I've gotta get over this somehow. I've tried, but I haven't quite figured out how to quickly break the 3rd-level communication barrier. (First level is cliche "how are you?" "How's the weather?" Second level is stuff like facts and interests. Third level is beliefs and feelings and stuff. "This is why I'm interested in it." --Deeper meaning.-- "I feel ____ when someone _____.") I'm still getting used to 2nd level, even though we've touched a tad bit on 3rd.

Yeah I know how that is. I am not very social so It is hard for me to have conversations with people that 1 i really dont know or 2 have a serious conversation with someone I care about. For some reason talking with Nate doesnt make me all that nervous. We havehad some really deep conversations and it wasnt that difficult, which was amazing.
Just take your time and build up to it. I know that it is a hard barrier to break, it is actually something that I have been working on for a while.

So.... wow.You guys have some fun times ahead. ;D ;D ;D After two months in this bloody state again with no sign of job prospects, I have decided to go to a career college in Boise and become a dental assistant. Whoot for me! And maybe find a part time job there. (why I even moved away in the first place???) And well.... things have been going good, so I don't know why I keep this a secret for much longer.... Normally I would wait one more month before telling you all this... superstitions and all but what the hell.... Last month I found out I was going to be a mom. Yup... knocked up. I am almost two months.... and freaking out! LOL. Sam is great about it... except running off to the bloody military and leaving me here to raise a kid... but oh well. I'm not bitter. Yup so that is my secret. I think that's all the news from my end.

I actually considered being a dental assistent once, but then realized that the medical career isn't my thing. )o: Starting at the end of my freshman year of high school until about halfway through my senior year I considered different medical careers (mostly thanks to our favorite Doctor!) but it's not gonna happen.
Whoa Nelly!! I guess we're soon to have a new TVC family member, lol! At least Sam is there for you in a way instead of really abandoning you. May feel like it with the whole military thing, but he's just doing his duty.

Wow, that's a whole lot of stuff going on.
Mel: Wishing you well with your classes! Hope you're not tired easily, but no matter, I've learned caffeine comes in handy! *wink*
KJ: Hope everything goes well with the baby and Sam and all! When do you find out if it's a boy or girl?
Mara: Is this that guy you wrote about in that private blog? Josh? Wait, is this that Josh that was at Porter or not? I know there are a lot of guys named Josh in the world, but just curious if I know him. Good luck with figuring things out regarding your relationship!
OK, now me. Honestly, I plain forgot about TVC whenever I came online. I have been a bit tired recently because I go to sleep at about 8 AM or so and keep waking up at about noon and getting up instead of trying to sleep right away again. I've been hanging out with Scott sometimes in the afternoon/evening, too. He's trying to bring me back into more of a Trek mood again instead of so much Indy, but you know how it is. *wink*
