I just came back to this thread and read what's been posted since I read it in May...I'm 90% sure I'm going to see it, just because it's Trek. I don't have a great reason, and I don't particularly like the TOS characters, and it probably will get one star from the general public and two from Trek fans...but I'll still go see it. But truth be told, if I had 300 million or so, or whatever it takes to make a movie nowadays, I would personally have gone and begged all the Voyager actors to make a movie. Seriously, there've been, what 5 or 6 TOS movies, 4 TNG movies...really. Even a flipping DS9 film I'd probably be more excited about than this one. I'm going to watch the trailer and see what I think.

Alright. Trailer was...interesting. Actually I'm sitting there thinking this doesn't barely make me think of Star Trek. More, general sci-fi. They've got a cool website though. Ah, I'll still see it.

THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
The characters were true to cannon... brilliant acting!.... and they did it in a way that they can do more their way and leave the original alone!
Oh I'm so going again! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Oh yeah! It rocked! They stayed true to the characters and the actors all did a great job. I also like the interesting twist where they didn't break canon, but sort of created a new one. (highlight for spoilers-) [black]However, I wouldn't like to see the new future with the home world of my favorite race gone, because a lot of my favorite characters may not exist anymore.... *tear*. I do kind of wish they'd undone the damage...[/black]

Wait. JF may just have found her resolve again. After all, I CAN say no to him. If I try hard enough. I've done it before. LOL.
I wouldn't get out of the chair. I wouldn't go back to the hotel. And I won't go see the movie.
See, I can do it!!

This movie was awesome, I loved how they did the entire story line setting up for new adventures new movies... I enjoyed myself through the entire movie! The only thing I'm pissed about is they decided to go back to the original insted of giving us :-/VOYAGER YOU MOTHER... we nterrupt your current prod cast program to bring you Phase-away… at the maximum setting, you can rid yourself of all those painful reminders of life like: your boss, your noisy neighbor, even your mother in-law. Phase-away, your destruction to peace… but when I said those words, I really was simply venting, the guys who made this movie deserve their props. It was a wonderful movie and I recommend it to everyone. Blessed Be!

I finally got to see the movie yesterday. Overall, I liked it, but I didn't like the gratuitous love scene or language. Totally loved Scotty though, and Chekov was funny.
